UPU's WORLD POST DAY

As part of the 150th anniversary of the Universal Postal Union's celebrations, Postcrossing, the Fédération Internationale de Philatélie (FIP) and the UPU are excited to launch a major international event: A MAXIMUM CARD FOR MAXIMUM WORLDWIDE FUN

How to Participate

The worldwide event is October 9, 2024. Prior to that date, follow the steps below as recommended by the UPU:

  1. Request postcards (up to 5) from ATA -or- download the postcard art (links below) and print your own. Add a stamp and cancellation to the front to make a maxicard. UPU suggests their 150th Anniversary stamps (available here).
  2. Register (or login) at postcrossing.com and receive the address of a registered recipient.
  3. Mail your maxicard and have it circulating all over the world between you and the more than 800k other postcrossers!
  4. Remember, postcards to US addresses need 56¢ of postage, international addresses require $1.65.

Printing Your Own Postcard

ATA is supporting UPU's World Post Day with a downloadable edition of the UPU's postcard. This art, designed for two-sided printing, corresponds to the postcard offered by member countries in celebration of this philatelic event. The ATA version includes the 75th Anniversary logo on the address side of the card.

The art is available in two versions:

Click on either link above to download the desired PDF. Then print the PDF (without scaling) using the Print Double-Sided option on your printer. If your printer does not support double-sided printing, print page one, then flip the paper and reinsert it into your printer's paper tray. Then print page two.

Request Postcards from ATA

ATA has a limited quantity of postcards available to members. If you would prefer a pre-made postcard to making your own, email the office with your request. ATA members can request a maximum of five postcards (while supplies last) to be mailed to a US address. Please use the online contact form to submit your postcard request not later than September 27, 2024. To expedite your request, please include your mailing address.
