Say it with PowerPoint: How to Present your Stamps like a Pro

Tuesdays at 7 p.m. Eastern, January 10, 17 and 24

Philatelists are enthusiastic people who want to share their interests with others. We make presentations at our stamp groups and virtually on Zoom and other platforms. We all want to be interesting and informative. These three workshop sessions offer the know-how to confidently share your philately in any setting. Every person who gives PowerPoint programs will use the tips offered in this program. The course will cover:

  • How to organize your presentation to keep the audience’s interest
  • Ways to energize your delivery with verbal and nonverbal communication
  • How to open and close a presentation with power and punch
  • What to put on a PowerPoint slide . . . and what not to
  • Effective slide layout, image and font choices

If you want to attend the class but the time slot does not work for you, we have a solution for that! We will be recording the class. After the class is posted online, you will receive an email with directions to access the sessions. You will also be able to email the presenters if you have any questions.

Course instructors are Michele Bresso and Martin Kent Miller. Michele is a recently retired professor of public speaking, small group and leadership communication whose 30-year career in the communication field also includes serving as public relations director, publications editor, radio news director, workshop speaker and more. The owner of The Philatelic Press, a marketing and design firm geared to the needs of philatelists, Martin edits numerous publications, including Topical Time, First Days and The United States Specialist. He edited the 2020 book, Topical Adventures – A Guide to Topical and Thematic Stamp Collecting. These presenters have been designing and presenting PowerPoint programs for over 30 years.
